Summer Days

Breathing in the summer air,
This feeling is so very rare,
Bumble bees and summer flowers,
Every so often the rain showers.

Children running round the streets,
Building tents out of sheets,
Begging for another icecream,
Playing Hide-And-Go-Scream.

Summer sun dazzling us all,
Until the light begins to fall,
The sun sets into a deepening darkness,
We agree to disagree nevertheless.

The colours merge into one shade,
As the last of the light finally does fade,
Shadows grow as heads fall to beds,
Parents pack toys back in sheds.

Summer days seem long and hot,
We wish they would never stop,
But shortly autumn will set in,
And even more beauty will begin...
