Sometimes we must take a step back,
To set ourselves on the right track,
For nothing is set in stone at all,
Except once on a gravestone wall.
We have our reasons for feeling this way,
We have our reasons for fighting to stay.
No one may force me to do against my own will,
Yet I stand here in line still.
When faith takes us by the hand,
Will still continue to stand?
Guide us through the ongoing pain,
Keep us dry in the pouring rain?
I believe not that this is true,
For I am still drying from morning dew,
And many others surely are too.
Give me a sign that I'm meant to be here,
Show me that your heart is somewhere near.
As the night falls on our shoulders,
We fall under it like crushing boulders.
No time for questions once the sun has left,
Nor time to think or rest.
We cannot stop until the end,
We have no message left to send.
Heaven is too far for us fly to,
Heaven may not be perfection to you.
